FIREMEN STEAL SALVAGE.
BREACH OF TRUST ADMITTED. WELLINGTON, May 25. Two fire brigadesmen, Alec MUne, aged 24, and Bernard Dynan, aged were charged at the court to-day with theft of goods valued at £1 15s i t am the premises of Edward McDonald during a recent fire. They plead : ed guilty and 'were remanded for sentence pending the Probation officer’s report. \fter the fire the accused were left in charge of the premises. It was subsequently found that goods valued at £l3 16s were missing, tout the goods traced to their possession were valued at £1 15s. Counsel for the accused said the men saw some material lying on the floor wet and damaged and they took it to use as a covering for shelves in their room at the Fire Station. It was a case, of sudden temptation. iThere was ncj secrecy about the affair.
