On changing sides Shannon made a vigorous forward attack and within a few minutes Hendricksen, who had been playing a great game, scored from a scramble near the line. Buckman, who replaced Davey, the latter having received a kick en the head near the end of the first spell, took the Ki«K at goal, but failed to add the extra points. Immediately the ball went into play Shannon made another vigorous assault and quickly added another try to their credit which was obtained by Robinson as a result 01 a scrum near the line. Coyle just missed adding the extra points With the scores even both team got to it in earnest; but Shannon gradually

worked play to their opponents' line where- Robinson scored his second try from a scrum. Coyle's attempt ai, goal missed. Once more both teams were dov'u to it, Sliannon having slightly the best Of it, they finally being awarded a free lack in their opponent's territory, Aim converting, much to die joy of shannon's supporters, rue game thus ended as stated above. Although the game was not marked Dy briiiiant play, it was keenly contested and was full of interest from a spectator's point of view, k.ere played a. sound game in the Foxton backs, wmie McMunray was their best forward 011 the day. Shannon's backs were, an even lot, while Hendricksen and Robinson stood out prominently m the forwards. Mr R. Sands controlled the game. NOTES. Prior to the Shannon seniors leaving for Levin on Saturday they were not a happy family owing to some of the members oft the team taking exception to certain players being included in the team; with the resultthat two prominent' backs, Williams and Lenihan, did not make the Trip and it is understood they intend severing their connection with the Club (Jthc players also expressed dissatisfaction. It is a pity the trouble was brought about as the team Shannon had put in the field on the two previous Saturdays was the best they have had for some time and everything pointed to the combination putting up a good fight for the championship. If dissatisfaction amoug the players is to be allowed to exisjt it is a foregone conclusion that the .senior team will not have the success that has been anticipated.
