LEVIN MARKET.
STORE SHEEP NOT WANTED,
There was a good yarding of stock at the Levin weekly, sale yesterday, and satisfactory prices fOr all classes except store sheep, which were not wanted. Fat sheep on the contrary were in keen demand, and the supply being short, prices showed a tendency to harden. Fat wethers made to 38s 6d, fat ewes to 365, and fat, lambs iis to 295. Cattle showing condition were in good demand, mostly on account oi Hie presence ©1 outside buyers. Pigs were yarded in lull numbers and. soiu well at late rates. Prices were as follow:.—Pigs.—Small weaners 8s 6u' to 10s, stores 18s to 19s, porkers 335, 35s to £2 ss, baconers £3 4s, boars £2 Ids.
Sheep; Fat wethers 38s 6d, fat ewes 3Us to. 365, fat lambs 21s, 24s Id, to -.Ays, Kurds 13s 6d to 16s 6d.
Cattle.—Fat cows £4 10s to £6, ligm and unfinished £3 8s to £3 17s tfd, lorward cows £2 9s to £3 ss, store cows lite to 27s 6d, springing cows to £6, dairy cows, inferior, £2 19s to £3 ss, cows and calves'££ 15s, heifers r.w.b. £2 to, £4 10s, weaner heifers •Jss, 18-inonths heifers £3.
