NEW SEASIDE RESORT FOR LEVIN.
Considerable interest is being taken in the proposed extension of <tn-e Waifarere road, now being formed and metalled by the Horowhenua County Council, to the sea beach.. The landowners interested have offered to allow the proposed road line to follow a course through .their respective properties that will ensure its being both level and easily formed and maintained. This is a matter of importance to the residents of this, district This beach is a perfect one, with, at low tide 150 yards of clean firm sand in the vicinity, and a more perfect site for a seaside resort could not be We are informed that the residents of Koputaroa, Tokomaru, and Shannon districts are taking the matter in hand and a movement is on foot to assist in the formation of this long wanted road, so that the people of the large and populous, district from Shannon to Levin including both towns and a large area of closely settled country may eniov the right of access to this beaulifiil" sea frontage. Absolutely ideal troll links could be formed just behind the terrace which fronts the sea and the owner of this land iias expressed his willingness to have the ground used for this purpose if required. Supporters of the new road hope to have the work completed in time for the Beach to be open for visitors next summer.
