MANGAORE NOTES.
(Prom our own Correspondent.) Mr and Mrs .T. S. Burgis and family are holidaying at Waikanae. Mr Eric Garluck, who has been transferred to Wellington, left on Saturday. Mr G. D. Aschman, of Head Office, Wellington, has arrived here on transfer and \is attached to the.electricsl stcfeff Mr J. Gagliardi, Junr., who was on a visit from Nelson returned week. Mir ,T. W. Swaney has received nO'tice of his transfer to Hora Hora Hydro Station, as power Station Suoerintendent. Mr H. R. Hurle, of Bunnythorpe Sub-station, returned this week from a visit to Tasmania. News has been received on Tuesday last that Mr J. Feetham. (P.W.D. Transport Foreman, at Shannon) was severely injured through shunting operations, and wishes from here are for a speedy recovery, v The opening day of the Shannon Golf Club was recorded in glorious weather. Golfers from here took the opportunity of an afternoon’s sport, and in the men’s approach and putting competition, t-hie winner turned out to be a Mangaore member, Mr ,T. R. Moody. Mangaore players were: Mesdames Johnston, Ross and Miss H. Ross. Messrs Johnston, Robinson, Gagliardi, Moody, Henry, Blackwood, Mitchell, Reinke and Ross. Quite a pleasant afternoon was spent, although the course is not quite in order, indications are tor a successful season.
Dancers from here speak in great praise Qf the dance conducted bv members of the Church of England Assembly last Tuesday evening.
