MUNICIPAL ELECTION.
NOMINATIONS CLOSE TO-MORROW. Nomination of candidates for the Mayoralty and Borough Council close wim the Returning Officer at the Council Chambers tomorrow (Wednesday) at noon, and the election takes place the following Wednesday, April 29th. During the past few days eight nominations for. seats on the Council have been received by the .returning officer, while it is anticipated that another six will be added to the list before nominations nave closed. The following have been receivedi—Messrs R. EDownes, D. McLaggan, W. Christian, G. E. Hook, A. H. Richards, Jas, Richardson, E. Butt, and T. C. Thwaites. Tlie contest 'for the Mayoralty will ,je between Messrs. W. Murdoch (tne present Mayor) and Mr A- E- Hyde. Both of these gentlemen have addressed meetings and there is. every indication this contest will be keenly fought., \
