RIDERS’ MIRACULOUS ESCAPE. MASTERTON, Last Night. The Wairarapa Motor Club’s second race meeting of the season was held on Saturday in fine weather. The track was fast. In the Carterton Handicap, A. Orchard (Blenheim) came down while lapping 60 miles an hour, but luckily was unhurt. Webby, of Blenheim, who was riding in behind Orchard, also came down and was hurdled through a picket fence. He was badly bruised, but miraculously escaped serious injury. South Wairarapa - Handicap, five laps.—W. Viggars (Wellington) A.J.S., 40 secs., 1; H. Simmons (Masterton) A.J.S., 70 secs., 2; A.
