LADIES' NIGHT AT LODGE MANGAHAO.

The members of the Masonic fraternity in Shannon held their annual ladies’ night last evening, tlie function proving an undoubted success.

Visitors * from Bulls, Palmerston, Poxton, Levin and other centres were m attendance and were cordially welcomed oni. behalf of the Lodge by the acting Worshipful Master, War. Bro. T. Thornhill Cooper, jr. Tile members with their wives and daughters assembled in the temple where addresses on file aims and ob jects of Freemasonry were delivered by Wor. Bro. Foss, of Levin, and Ht. Wor. Bro. Nash, of Palmerston North. Both addresses were followed with •profound interest and will no doubt be long remembered by those who were privileged, to hear them. After the emblems of Masonry had been cleared from the room a very enjoyable concert programme was carried out. 'While the assembly were at supper and after the usual toast list, appropriate to such an occasion had been duly honoured the floor wa s prepared for dancing when in the best spirit of brotherly comradeship age mingled with youth until time called finis and sent everyone home with the feeling that they had not only had an evening’s amusement, but an evening of Instruction and enlightenment in a 'subject whicih to many had previously been a closed book.
