LEVIN MARKET.
PRICES WELL MAINTAINED. There was a good yarding of stock at the Levin weekly sale yesterday, prices being majinly on a par with late rates. Sheep were yarded m fairly good numbers, the entries being mostly lambs. The market was well sustained far good quality lines, lambs and breeding ewes were difficult to qunt. Cattle were in fair supply., beef showing a tendency to harden. As may be expected .at iJhis time of the year, low conditioned animals were not sought after. Pigs were in good demand, a large yardiing coming forward, and a total clearance being effected on a rising market. Prices were as follow: Pigs: Good weaners to 17s, small and weedy 9s to lis, stores 22s 6d to 27s 6d heavy to 345, light porkers 30s to £2 ss, heavier £2 9s to £2 12s 6d. Sheep: Fat lambs 25s 4d to 27s 6d, fat wethers and maiden ewes 37s 6d, wether lambs 2?s 4d, m.s. lambs 15s M to 23s 3d, cull lambs 14s 3d. Cattle: Fat cows £5 2s 6d to £6 ss, lighter £4 5s to £5, fat heifers £4 5s to £4 15s, forward cows £2 Is to £4, stoijfe cows £1 to 30s, vealers 35s to £2. best, dairy cows £7 to £9, medium £"> to £6 10s, culls £2 10s to £3 10s, heifers r.w.b. £3 2s to £3 14s, low conditioaied 2-year steers £4 2s 6d, 18~months steers £4 2s, potter bulls £4 10s, £4 15s, £5 9s to £6 15s.
