ANGLICANS SEEKING STATUTORY RELIEF. DUNEDIN, February 5. Speaking on church constitution, and the recommendation of the Commission that Parliament be asked to empower the Synod to make such changes in the fundamental provisions as may be found necessary, subject to the general concurrence of the Diocesan Synod, Archbishop Julius sata that all were ready- to allow that clause 6, which declared these provl. sions unalterable, was an unwarraiivable intrusion upon their liberties. It could not be amended without resore to Parliament. Most of the provisions were obsolete, but their cherished re. lations with the another church did not depend for security on those provisons, and an appeal to the Legislature would certainly be met with sym. pathy and be good for all.
