While the other two rinks skipped by Messrs Cagliardi and Murray were decisively defeated. During the afternoon the ladies provided atternoon tea and the. day being ideal for bowling, a mqst enjqyable day was spent /by the bowlers.. At tlie conclusion ol me games Mr Clayton, [..resident of ,the Shannon Cluh, called' on Mr Christie, president of the Foxton Club, to present the Shield to the winners. Mr Christie said it afforded him pleasure in handing over the trophy to the Levin Club, which had been won handsomely. He ,said it was very gratifying the way interest in the competition was, being sustained and trusted the same would be continued and that in the future Shannon and Foxtor would have to play better if they wish to defeat Levin. Mr iPyke, on receiving the trophy, said the games had been enjoyable and his Club were pleased at becoming the holders. The Shield was to gq around and he. hoped that next season the Shannon Club would become the holders. He then called for cheers for Shannon' and Foxton after which .cheers were heartily given for the winners and for the 'ladieswho had dispensed the refreshments. Following are the results of the' games played, Shannon being mentioned first in each case;—
