CARELESS BATHERS AND PICNICKERS.
(To the Editor.) tSir, —Mr Woods has kindly consented tq allow, the public to go on ins property for picnics antTbainmg, nut uas naturally requested that tne gates must no.t be left Open, and so allow ins stock to get on tne. roads. Bo that this would not take place the Borough Council had stiles made oyer- me fences. But, unfortunately, some of our citizens have no sense of decency or public duty and on Sunday last were evidently too lazy to use. the. Stiles or close the gates. It is. hard to believe that such people exist, but it is evident that their behaviour will be the means of debarring not only themselves but others who enjoy a dip in the stream. I trust that these who are guilty will read this and try and act deecntly in the future.—J am, etc., “PLAY THE GAME "
