CONFERENCE OF FACTORY MANAGERS AND SUPPLIERS.

The Agricultural Department recently decided’to raise the minimum points for first grade butter from 88 to 90. This means that .factories which have hitherto been getting a firstclass grade. with butter rating from 88 to 9Q will have to effect a considerably improvement in their make. The Manawatu .branch of the Dairy Factory Managers’ Asso ciatiOn has decided to hold a conference of dairy farmers and factory managers at .Palmerston on Tuesday, December 16th with the object of drawing the attention of farmers to the. need for better milk and cream, and how to secure same, in view of the. advance ia the minimum points of first, grade butter and cheese mentioned above. Members of the Dairy Division will be in attendance. ‘ At a meeting' of the West Coast Dairy Companies Association at Palmerston it was decided that the association was fully in accord with the objects of the conference, realising as it did the heed for better quality produce.
