Levin A with 10 men travelled' to Moutoa on Saturday, ana niter a good game played in tiie. nest of spirit won by 42 rune on the first innmgs. winning the toss Field sent Moutoa to the wickets, the opening pair being Mason and McDonald to bowling of Bennett and Field. Both batsmen ! played with confidence to both bowlers who were sending down very few loose balls in spite ui tiie greasy state i of the ball owing to. the rain which had commenced. Mason soon ran into double, figures and after hitting a “sixer” snicked one to Sharp- at fine slip with the score, at 25. The outgoing batsman had shown that lie is a fine player having played every nail like a champion. Bennett and Field did not take long to dispose of the. remainder, Bennett finishing with tne fine average oi 6 for 19. After light refreshments had been supplied by the Moutoa men, /Martßi and Sharp opened to the howling of Sutherland and Douglas, hut Martin was. doomed not to stay long, for his third ball was well caught at point by Rickett. Bennett and Sharp then carried the score to 46 before, the former mishit one to Douglas in the slips. Bennett had batted, very soundly with good strokes .all round thewicket for his 25. Walker played one on to his wicket before scoring hut Field soon got going and the score was carried to .72 by careful hatting, when Sharp was caught by Rickett for 18. Field went soon after for 19 scored in this characteristic style but none of the remainder ran into double figures Madsen finished up with 'the excellent average of 7 to, 17. Results were as follow:
