(Received This Day, 10.30 a.m.) OTTAWA, Nov. 23. Leonard Reid, son of the late sir William Reid, one time Governor of Newfoundland, was driving his private motor car and assisting in the entertainment of the officers on the warship Constance during a parade in September, when he ran into a group ,Qf war veterans and killed two. The car then skidded and capsized crushing tQ death four o.f its occupants, including two high officers of the visiting ship.

Reid was charged with manslaughter. It was shown that he drove at fifty miles, an hour just before the collision. He was sentenced to a year’s imprisonment.
