POWER BOARD'S RETICULATION.
STATEMENT BY THE CHAIRMAN
At Tuesday's meeting oi the Horowhenua Power Board, the chairman, Mr G. A. Monk said tlhat, regarding the reticulation of the district it had frequently been stated by the Board that this would be ready when Mangahao was ready. They now bad the "juice" from Mangahao and there inigfht be some disappointment in cases where the reticulation was not completed. It must be taken into account, however, that the Board had been forced to act with a certain amount of indecision from the fact that it was nqt known for certain when Mangahao would be ready. As late as three months ago they Jiad bieen infoumted, unofficially, that it might be twelve months from tiiat time before the "juice" was available. Added to this was the fact that
the Board was under heavy commitments on account of financing con-j sumers and was not receiving any interest on the money. At present, with, the contracts in hand, tliey might say that only the lateral lmes remained to be done. I
