CHILDREN'S CONCERT.

The programme submitted was. one. of the most enjoyable th;.n liag been presented by the children ol Shannon, the audience showing then appreciation by the manner in which they Remanded re calls, this result going to sho.w tiiat the organiser liud spared no pains to bring about such a successful evening. The first ini of the pfrograinmie was devoted to
vocal a«d instrumental items, followed in tUe second half by a’fairy play, “The Magic Wand,” whitish, was nicely staged and in which a large number of children took part in a most creditable manner. The performance went through with a swing, the singing and acting beng most enjoyable and. the audience showing itjheir appreciation by applause, The principal parts were as follow:—-Fairy Sunbeam, Vera Quarrie; Tommy Tucker, V. Tippler; Simple Simon, Jean Brawn; Willie Winkle., C. Watkins; Johnny josie Thompson; Jack Horner, Nance Balfour; Robin a Bobbin, 0. Watkins; Polly Flinders, Ruby Small; Belly Blue, Mona Ingley; Nanny, Nestu Tippler; Jenny Wren, Dorothy Davis; Bessie, Joan Murray; Mary, Cora Tippler. Selections were played during the evening by an adult' orchestra • under the baton of Mrs Bovis, whQ was musical conductress' for the concert. Mr Farnell carried out the duties Qf stage manager in a. most efficient manner, the concert being under the direction Qf Mrs Farnell. The performers and those responsible j are to be complimented on bile splendid performance, given.
