PIGEON FLYING.
RACE FROM SHANNON. On Saturday, 20th inst. s the Marlborough Pigeon Flying Club flew its second race trom Shannon, a distance of 103 miles. The birds were liberated at 11.30 a.m. and reached Blenheim at 1,49 p.m. The weather wafe ideal for flying and last times were-recorded.' It was a good, race; very close finishes, only six minutes between first and last clock. Following are the results:— . P. Rotnwell's blue bar cook, an Idea*" velocity 1306 yards per minute, r. ~xt J. Gibson's blue chequer hen, 'Nancy," velocity 1302 yards per minute, 2. G. Martin and 'Son's blue chequer cock, "Lazy Bones," velocity 100 l yards per minute., 3. .1. Priddle's blue chequer cock, "Post Boy," velocity 1299 yards per minute, 4. - C. Priddle's blue chequer' cock, "Little Jim," velocity 1298 yards- K l " ■minute, 5. J.
