The determination ol; Patrolman John Foley, known as “Jack o’ Clubs,” gains him the respect of the East side. Tillie Miller, a little cafe singer, attracts him. She is the sweetheart of Spike Kennedy, a gang (leader. Tillie spurns Jack’s devotion. Spike and Jack are prevented by the captain of the district from fighting. A general fight results. Jack attempts to settle the affray. Surrounded by a gang of ruffians he raises his club just as Spike Kennedy is about to black-jack him. Tillie rushes forward and is struck. For days she hovers on death’s brink. Jack is accused, hut he proves hi« honour and ,love for Tillie.
