On changing over, Summon, luaving the wmd in their lavour, soon had Weraroa in dibicuitieg and it w.as nearly mu. way impugn the spell before Weraioa crossed the haif-way line. From t passing rush on tne, part oi the shannon backs, play was carried near die line where irom a scramble Johansen snapped up the leather and diving over, drew first 'blood., Williams tailed to add the major points. On tne ball going into piay again Shannon returned to the attack. 1 Soon alter, Moynihan, intercepting a. kick in me 25, secured the leather and raced across the line and, scored. Williams converted. This reverse appeared to stir up Weraroa, who charging down the field, made a bid, for the line, but were not successful in getting oyer. Shortly alter'they were awarded a free. kick, and although it was & long kick at the goal, McHerron gave it a •‘go,” and was successful in converting. Play now became very willing, both teams doing their best, eacn fighting it out in the best of spirits, but neither were successful in registering another score. The Shannon backs were saved time and again by the efforts of Williams and Lenihari, the latter always being in the thick of it, these two players being a tower of strength to Shannon. In the forwards Moynihan and Johansen stood out prominently. 'Churchill at fullback for Weraroa proved very sound, saving bis side repeatedly by his tak : ing oi the bail and line kicking, m the other backs Anderson showed up well. McHerron, Broughton and Henderson doing valuable work in the forwards. Mr Seymour controlled the game.
