On entering il.e hull one .was struck with the splendid decorations, which, together with the many coloured frocks of the ladies, presented a most picturesque appearance. The central item in the decorations took the form of a huge bell in the middle of the hall, the green and yellow streamers from which w.ere suspendedi in such a way as to appear as a portion of the bell, while at each window the glass Was covered with dressed fibre, with green flax nicely arranged at each end Of the walls.' j The stage, which wajs also decorated, was allotted to the orchestra, Oh the one side, while on the other a stall had been erected where claret cup was dispensed and which proved most popular. The floor had been specially prepared and was in splendid order and together with the excellent music supplied by Smith’s Orchestra, made dancing more enjoyable. Messrs M. Ghristiensen, £. Gaddy and O. Hannifin officiated as Mastens of Ceremonies in a most efficient manner. A sit-down supper was provided and the caterers, Messrs Walls Bros., of Foxton, are to be complimented bn the excellence of the supper. During the evening steel guitar selections were played by Messrs Francis Bros, and dance extras which had been specially arranged for were played by Mr and Miss Wall, of Foxton.
