" Mrs Sclnvass and Mr s Boote tied lor tho first prize, a set of stainless knives, which was finally won by Mis sehwass. Mr s Walton and Mr S. Parr .were the winners oi the ü bo.oby" prizes, and Mr Mercer won gentlemen's first prize. The music lor the dance was supplied uy Mr ana tors nauiage, and Mi* J. Ella acted in. iSie Qapacmy of M.C. A "very pleasant evening was spent by all, terminating shortly after one o'clock. I.ne Schoolhousc, .which has been under repair, is now completed antl Mr and Mrs flickson have taken up their residence there. Mrs iiieksoii arrived from Auckland this week.
The services at the Anglican Church on Sunday morning, was conducted by the Re.v. Redgrave;, of Wellington. Mi' George Bacon is stilj, an inmate of the Pafhierstom Hospital, but is making slow progress towards recovery. '
Miss" Gooder, who was at one time on the staff of the school, returns to New Zealand iro.m Canada this moi th.
