Several members spoke very stronglv about such statement having been made. The whole trouble seemed to be that the Otaki Club could not always get the referees they wanted. The following motion was passed: "That the Rugby Union be written to asking Mr O'Rourke when and where the Referees' Association had tried to run the Rugby Union." The secretary was instructed to point out to the Rugby Union that the Referees' Association was a small body trying to do its best in the interests.of-Rugby in this district and.if its critics had as much interest in the doings of the Rugby Union as they seemed to have in their own clubs they would' have more consideration for the Referees' Association,
