PALMERSTON RAILWAY DEVIATION

MB NASH OPTIMISTIC. * A statement-in respect. to the" proposed railway deviation at Palmerston North was made by Mr J. A. Nash, M.P., at tile Palmerston North Chamber of Commerce in response to a query from members as to whether any ‘further developments ha.d been revealed. * “I ’happen to know what the position is in this matter,” he said, “but unfortunately,' il aannot say much lor it is not known what will be the opinion of the Railway Commission, which is now in Australia, in regard to the proposals in Palmerston North. * “Personally, I do not think the positlion wili be affected, and in short, I think matters are favourable for us.” Mr Nash further stated that he thought the people would hear something in regard to the deviation at a very early date.
