SHANNON SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

A meeting, of the above .was’ held in the schoolroom on Thursday evening. Present: Messrs a. Tippler (chairman), W. Brown, R. - Downes, D. Gustofsen, W. Christian and w! Carlyle, (secretary). A letter was received from ’the Minister for Railways stating the Department will forego their claim in connection with tlie excursion train to Plimmerton, viz., 12s 6d. on live senior scholars tickets which the inspector caused to he replaced by adult tickets iand a similar amount for‘a window broken. He also pointed out that it was quite usual for an inspector to travel on excursion trains. GENERAL. The new infant mistress, Miss V. Sinclair, will .commence her duties at the school on My Ist. Tire matter of furnishing the teacher’s room at the infant' school was left- jji the hands of the chairman with power to'act. It was decided to calf tenders for lopping .and trimming t|ie hedges around the school; also to go on with the erection of the new woodshed, tiie timber for which is now on the ground.
