£1,000,000 AIR STATION SCRAPPED
It is announced that Howden airship station (Yorkshire), which possesses some of the finest airship building accommodation in Europe, is to be demolished. • About a year ago the station was sold by the Government to a purcuaser, who disposed of half the acreage. At Howden it would have been possible to build simultaneously two airships of 120 tons displacement each and one of 100 tons. Tlio station could not bo repluced for less than | £1,000,000.. The work of demolition is expected ' to occupy a least a year. Macliineo on the site will be sold by aucHcxn.
