The weekly meeting of the Horowhenua Rugbv Union Managemeul Committee was held last evening, Mr J. Itimmer, in the .absence oi’ the president, being voted to the chair. Also present: Messrs lUitchings, Austin. Robinson, O’Connor, and the secretary, Mr L. Carmichael, heave of absence was granted to the president, M E. Nash, and Mr T. O’Rourke. COR RESPOND EN CE. The N.Z. Rugby Union wrote asking for the names of referees capable of controlling inter-provincial matches. Referred to the Referees’ Association. , . The Shannon'Club wrote asking if a player who had played senior Jor that Club three, seasons ago, hut who had never been classified might play junior. The secretary was instructed to reply that., as iaid down in Rule -16, this itian must first be reinstated by the Union before playing junior. A letter was received from the Otaki Borough’ Council to the effect that owing to the heavy expense the Borough Council .was being put to in making improvements to the Otaki Domain, that they considered they .should receive 25 per .cent, of the gate receipts from football matches instead 6t 15 per cent. The secretary was instructed to write to-the Nelson, Marlborough and Golden Bay Unions regarding tiie proposed tour of tire llorowhenua Reps, to those districts and ascertain the boat time-tables, gale guarantees, etc. It was decided' that a small committee be set up to go into the question of a Charity .Saturday, the president, Mr J. J. O’Connor, and the secretary being appointed such a committee.
