BAD LUCK AND NO FISH.
TOE ADVENTURES OF* A SHANNON PARTY.
A party of Shannon residents went fishing to Paraparaumu, last week, and coming through Levin made a halt for some little time to pick up some necessary and accepted accessories to the sport. From subsequent happenings it would appear that some essential rite to- bring good fortune had been forgotten—some kuralua omjtted. Before they got clear of the town the car came into violent contact with a telegraph pole and refused to be .disentangled. Much profanity availing nothing a charabanc was procured end the journey continued, urnapgeui'ents being concluded to have the sarnie vehicle, call lor them on tlie following evening. At 8 p.m. therefore the party gathered at the appointed rendezvous, and waited round until midnight, but without avail. No bus arrived and finally a car was procured to take them as far as Levin, from.which place another conveyed itho disgusted sportsmen home in the “wee snia’ hours.” And they got no fish either!
