SPORTING NOTES.
Treadwell was unfortunate 'at the Dannevirke meeting, being left at the post on the first day and missing in the Tiratu Hack 'Handicp by a head. Treadwell has been racing consistently if unluckily for somje time and should be due to pull something off before long. She is nominated for Rangitikei and should be among the first flight. Slinker is also nominated for Rangitikei, but as he is out of sorts at present will probably not compete. Webster’s string, Radiac, Matarika end Bonecta were well to the fore at the Nelson meeting, Radiac carrying off a co-uple of events on the second clay. Matarika with two seconds was unlucky, and Bonecta also sot second place. They have all been nominated for the West Coast..
Pillage, from the same stable, has been nominated for the Masterton meeting on the 15th. This is Pillage’s first appearance since . Easter, when he wa,s hurt whilst coming back from the West Coast, where he bad carried off a couple of events.-
Happy Days proved a disapointment to his trainer at Blenheim. Mat. Williams will have Waimatoa going in the (hurdle event at Rangitikei.
Bonny Gold will also be a starter at the same meeting and should be worth watching. Her win in the Scurrv on the second day was a useful effort, whilst her performance in the Maiden event on the preceding day showed her consistency.
