TWICE ROBBED BY SAME MAN.

An Englishman, near Eapallo, Italy, had the peculiar '< experience of being robbed twice by the same men of the the same object, which they afterwards offered to restore on payment of a ransom. He took' a small'boat with two men for a short excursion to Zoagli on the coast, three or four miles from Eapallo and landed to visit the grounds of the old castle. The boatmen landed with him and robbed him of his money, watch, chain and ring. The ring he prized most, and the next day he was informed he could recover it for a certain sum, which he paid. Some days later the Englishman was walking along in the vicinity of Eapallo, on Mont' Allegro, when the same two thieves, who had followed hip, attacked him again and robbed him once more of his watch, chain and ring and a small sum of money. Again they notified him of the conditions on which they would restore, the valuables, but this time he informed the police and the thieves, who had given a secret rendezvous, were arrested at the moment they were expecting to pocket the ransom.
