TOKOMARU NEWS.
(From our o.wn Correspondent.) The Druids held-a euchre fveiv/.g on Friday night, when there w a s a fair attendance. The lady's first prize was 'won by Mrs Russell, Mr R. Guy, securingi the men's prize. The booby prizes were won by Miss M. C".mphell and Mr Athol Kelly. A dance followed, bringing to a conclusion a pleasant evening. Miss K. Williams, who has lately become a resident of Tokomaru, has commenced the instruction of music pupils.
Miss Jean Boote had the misfortune while playing to fall and break her arm.
Mr and Mrs Perry are shortly leaving for a trip to Australia. Mushrooms are very plentiful here and are being enthusiastically -?atherled toy tjhe children. Blackberries also have been secured in large supplies. Mrs Broughton is an inmate of the Palmerston hospital. Mr Reg.. Rowlands has returned from a visit to New Plymouth.
M.r Harry Smith is enjoying a Wellearned vacation. ' Mrs Adams has commenced giving lessons in, pastel, painting.
The kitchen tea accorded Miss Eileen Judd on Tuesday evening was well attended, and very many 'useful articles were received.
The Presbyterian picnic is to be held next Saturdrv at tsho riverside.
