A bonnie little boy had the privilege at Christchurch of doing a deed which would cause a grown-up to bo arrainged with all solemnity for contempt of Court (says the Lyttlcton i Times). During the hiearing of a maintenance case at the Magistrate s Court learned" counsel on one side alleged that a little boy aged two had been neglected by his parents. The Magistrate decided that the most satisfactory thing would be to have, an inspection, so the child was taken on to the bench by a burly police officer. In a flash the vigorous youthful exhibit broke away and rushed up and down behind the high magisterial chair whooping with delight. He refused to desist, and did his best to interrupt a cross-examination until a smiling mother gathered him into her arms and took him outside, < .. —J
