DOMAIN IMPROVEMENTS.

On Monday evening an executive meeting of the Shannon Domain. Carnival Fund was held in the Council Chambers. Present—His Worship tihe Mayor (Mr Murdoch) in the chair,, and Messrs Burns, Hardie, Quarrie, Mitchell, Henry, Hook, Crowther and Crs Beard, Butt and Curran. The Secretary reported that the balance in hand was £534 19/. The meeting discussed the best ways and means of improv,1 ingi the Domain with the money in hand, which would be to the advantage of the various sports bodies and the general public. Finally, it was resolved to call tenders for tile draining the grounds; to get an estimate for cutting out the gum trees growing around the hedge and to top the present hedge. An estimate was received for ploughing, levelling and sowing. It was also decided that the secretary t write to the Town Clerk, Grey town, . for information regarding swings, | etc., for children’s ground. 1
