The second round of the Triangular Shield Contest was played on the Levin 'Green on Wednesday after-, noon, when there was a large attendance of bowlers and friends from Shannon and Foxton as well as the local enthusiasts. The weatlier was perfect and the green in excellent order, resulting in some very close games. As .the result of the match the relative positions of the different clubs remains practically unchanged —with an advantage to. Shannon. The rules of the contest prescibe that the games which are played.alternately in Shannon, Levin and Foxton shall take place between four rinks from The home team and two from each of the visiting Clubs, the total number oi points scored by each Club in the three games to decide .the winner of the contest. The position prior to Wednesday's games was—Shannon 99, and Levin and Foxton 38 each. In the second round Levin with four riks scored 7-2 points, bringing their total to 110, Shannon 32, total 131, and Foxton 43, total 81. Shannon is thus left in a viery strong position, leading Levin by "21 ipoints.- each Club to play two rinks in the third round against Foxton's four. . ! A very interesting incident during I the course of the game was a visit 1" the Green bv the Commander and several officers .of the Japanese naval party, which ' was visiting Levin as th© guests of the Government.
