IMPORTATION OF PEDIGREE PIGS.
ARRIVES AT CD. FARM
Six highly bred pedigree Devon, pigs, imported from Jingland, arrived at the Central Development Farm on Friday last ex quarantine. Four of I these were, presented to tihe New ZeaI land Government hy Mr H. .G. Spioer, and two were purchased iby.it. There i are two sows and an unrelated boar l of each yariety. They are: Large whit© boaJV "Twogood Bar None lath," farrowed 84th Feb., 1923; large white gilt "Twogood Diana 3rd, farrowed 14th November, 1922; largewhite gilt "Twogqod Lily 7th," farrowed 24th October, 1922; Large Black boar "Gage Orpheus,'' farrowed February 2, 1923; large black gilt "Gage Forest Lass 4th." farrowed October 10th, 1923; large black gilt "Gage. Forest Echo," farrowed Septemher 9th; 1923. Twogood Lily 7th is in pig to "Bourne Champion Boy 38th, who is described as "perhaps the most outstanding boar in England." In 1923 he won a first prize at each Qf the five shows at which he was exhibited as follows: Royal Newcastle, Royal Lancashire, Peterborough Lincoln, and Yorkshire. "Twogood lily" is a magnificent young sow of great development and is due-to farrqw_a.t. an early date. ihe large Talack, "Gage Forest Echo" is in pig to another noted boar, -'Ashiby Lex," and is due shortly. All six pigs appear in excellent condition and to have suffered nothing on their long voyage out.
