Appreciation of the high quality oi New Zealand butter was expressed by several Americans; and Australians who were through passengers on the Niagara. French stated that lie was struck with the quality of the butter on the table at the Vancouver Hotel, British Columbia, and complimented the waiter upon it. "That is New Zealand No. 1 " was the waiter's acknowledgment. The presence and popularity ol New Zealand butter on the Pacific Coast market hail also been noted by .Mr J . L. Marcy, a prominent business man of Melbourne. "The only really good butter I ate in Canada came from New Zealand It could be recognised in an' ins ant, said Mr L Macintosh Ellis, director ol th> New Zealand State Forest Service, who returned recently by the Niagara. "It is acknowledged in . Canada that the progressive methods of co-opera-tive marketing and compulsory grading of food products has placed New Zealand in tho foremost position in. the Empire in bullor. and lamb production. ' Mr Ellis said lie had noted a widespread and lively interest in New Zea-. land and her laws. The Canadians would even concede it was the paradise of tho racific." Canada had a -Teat respect for hen" sister Dominion L the South Pacific, and, contrary to expectation. Mr Ellis round that Canada was well informed oi doings in New Zealand.
