BRIDAL-BOUQUET WREATH.

The funeral of Mr John Edward Freeman, Mayor of Maldon, Essex, who committed suicide by falling from a bedroom window- of the Hotel Cecil, Strand, while-on his honeymoon, took place at Maldon. All the shops in the borough were closed, blinds were drawn and flags were flown half-mast. A choral service was attended by the widow, whose bridal bouquet was placed on the coffin.
