TOKOMARU NEWS.
(From our Own Correspondent.) The Hall Committee held a meeting on Tuesday last. The present committee comprises Messrs J- R- Wnyte, J. C Kelly, J. R. Kelly, E. Perry, L. Wilton and R. W. Guy. It was cided to canvass the district in order to augment funds already in hand to make some improvements. Mr Guy is to Submit to. the committee plans to that effect;. . ■ . The next Anglican Church social is to be held on Wednesday, sth, when the usual progressive euchre is to be indulged in, combined with a dance, and book guessing competition. All are invited to wear an article representing any popular novel, and the winner of the most votes will receive a prize. In spite of counter attractions during the week, the last social proved a great success. A children's hard-up dance, recently»held in the local hall was fairly well 1 attended, Mr Philip acting as M.G. for the first part of the evening, and Mr Perry the latter part. Sister Kelly is holiday making in Wellington before taking up her duties in the. north.
