YESTERDAY'S SITTING,

At the Levin Magistrate's Court yesterday, the following police and civil cases, were heard .before Mr JL. Stout, S.M.':—

. In-thiei following cases jwdgment was. given, for piaintiff "toy default: Stillwielland Porter v. K. Carter, £2l 13s 3d, costs £2 lis; same y. A. Trevelyaii, £3 Os 6d, oosits 18s. 6d ; Park and Adams v. L. P. P. Double £l3 6s 10d, costs £2 l£s|. \

In. .the case of Wni ; . E. Davies v. Wml. J, Whyte, an order for payment of the 'amount claimied £8 ,19s 9d, forthwith; was made, in default 7 days, order to he suspended as long as debtor paid £i per month. BY-LAW, CASES* James McDonald, charged with being the owner of a horse found wandiering aft large in Stout Street, Shannon, was fined 10s and 7s costs. Rewi Moynihan, similarly charged, was fined 10s and costs Is. \ John Powvano, a second offender, charged with allowing :tihreg horses to •sjfcrajr unaiiftendedl in/ Vogel street, Shannon, was ordered to pay £1 and costs 7s. *

Eriiily Crowther for allowing four cows to wander at large within, the Borough of Shannon, was fined' £1 and costs 7s.

A DEFENCE, CASE.

Hani Baartlett, charged with failing to notify change of address to the military authorities,• ■ was fihied 10s and costs 7«. UNREGISTERED MOTOR' CYCLE. A. R. Robinson, charged under section .18 of the Motor Regulations Act, 1908, . with failing' to notify iat the County office, the sale of a, motor cycle was fined 10s and costs 7s.

William Tohaia, purchaser of the aforementioned motor cycle, for failingi to register change of ownership, was fiiied 10s (and costs 7s.

WSlliaim Tohaia, charged with riding a motor cycle in a public place without! same being fitted with a silencer.. Was ordered to pay £1 and costs 7s ; SCHOOL ATTENDANCE BREACHES.

Edward Higgs, charged Avith failing to send a> child to school, was fined 5s and co"sts 7s.

In the aasei of Robert. Grieg, for failing to have a child enrolled on the "register of, a school, the maximum line of £2, with Court costs 12s, was imptosed."
