SHANNON WATER SUPPLY.
TENDERS ACCEPTED.
A special meeting of the Borough Council was held last evening to deal with tenders for construction of concrete reservoir and supply of clement in connection with Shannon's water supply. The following were the tenders received for supply of cement.—Briscoe and Co. (English) in, casks, 20s 6di per cask at Shannon; Manson and Barr (Wilson's) £6 16s 6d per ton, at Shannon; Hopwood and Co- (Golden Bay cement) £6 16s 6d; W. H. Quote, Ltd. (Wilson's) £6 16s; Shannon Dairy Co. (Wilson's) £6 14s, subject to falling clause. The latter tender was accented! subje'et to the falling clause being inserted.' ' '
Tenders for construction of reservoir: Shaoiler and Law "£2267 10s, F. Raymond £7BO (accepted).
Indented steel bars: Briscoe and Co.'s tender at £22 and £2l 10s was accepted. '",■■' It was decided to call fresh tenders for carting)- material which are to be advertised in the Levin and Foxton papers. *
