BOWLING.
PAIRS TOURNAMENT.
On Labour Day a pairs tournament was held on the Shannon green, when fourteen pairs took part. Tne weather, although showery, held off sufficiently to allow; four rounds, to be played, and a most enjoyable day's sport was the result. Only two pairs went through the four rounds without a los9, viz., Whibley and Boyis, and Quarrie and Morgan. These two played off for the final and on the last heiad were even, three dead heads following. Finally Quarrie and Morgan won with one up. Following are the number of games won:— Pairs.—Gunning and Blight, Gagliardi and Burns. Fargher and Walterston, McKegg and Macdonatld, Murray and Bartholomew, Quarrie and Morgan, Knowles and Murray, Clayton -and Gardner, Cooper and Hardie, Whibley -and. Bovis, A. McK-egjg and Reid, Shannon andf, H. Butt,. Murphy and B. Spencer, E. Butt and Wiggins. First Round.—Gunning 11 v,. Gaglihardi 21, Fargher 8 'v. W. McKegg 15, Murray ,10 v. Quarrie 15, W. Knowles beat Clayton, Cooper 5 v. Whibley 10, A. McKegg 8s v. F. Butt 20, Murphy 12 v. E. Butt 15.
Stecond Round.—Cooper beat E. Butt, Murphy 11 v. Knowles 6, W. Quarrie !20 v. Fargher 4, W. McKegg 8 y. Gaglia,rdi 13, Clayton 7 v, Shanr non 19 1 , WhiMey 14 v. Murray 7, A. McKegg 8 v. Gunning 21. Third' Hound— Quaime beat. Murphy, A. McKegg lost to Whibley, Shannon beat Knowles, Gagliardi lost to Fargher, W. McKegg lost to E. Butt, Gulnning lost to Clayton, Murray beat Cooper.
Fourth Round.—Fargher bat. 'Cooper, A. McKegg lost to W. McKegg, Gagliairdi beat Knowles, Clayton beat Murphy, Quarrie beat Murphy, Quarrie beat Gunning, ,E. Butt lost to Murray, Whibley beat Shannon.
