GENERAL. The Ma-kema Drainage Board submitted plans lor' proposed improvements to tlie' Ukuku Budge over titc Tokonnwu stream, and asking to whatextent tile Council would he willing to contribute to same.

present road. It was considered now, however, that a more satisfactory road could be formed on the opposite side.
Mr A. Ross said that before the settlers came to a definite decision the County engineer should prepare a definite estimate so that settlers would know wlint the road would xost. After considerable discussion it was decided that the engineer should prepare such an estimate and that the Council should let the settlers know what the cost of the proposed road would be. ' COLLECTION OF DRAINAGE LEVY. A deputation consisting of Messrs McDonald, McGill, and Law waited on the Council to ask that, the Council would make itself responsible for the collection of the contribution of the Buckley drainage area, towards the hanking of the Man gore stream.
