REFEREES AND CENSORSHIP.

At a meeting of football referees at Southborough, near Tunbridge Wells, Mr Vinehall alluded to what he described as the “indecency” of the “shorts” worn by some footballers, and asked what was the position of 2y eferee when a player came on the Held wearning knickers si;c inches above the knee.

The chairman, Mr Allchin, said there was a rule that knickers should meet the knee, but the rule had not been strictly enforced. It was decided to ask the Football Association for a ruling on the matter.
