WELLINGTON v, HOROWHENUA MAORIS.

On Saturday -the Wellington Maoris met and defeated the Maori representatives of the Horowhenua Union in a hard game at the Levin Domain, by 16 points to .11.

The local team had the advantage in weight, hut were outclassed in the loose by the.ir nippier opponents, whose passing was particularly good. Their training also stood them in good stead and in the second hail they, had # all the advantage of the game.

Horowhenua opened up with the advantage of the sun and wind at their backs and making the most o. their weight, put on eleven points, a converted goal, one unconverted, ano a penalty in the first spell, without allowing their opponents to cross their line.
