FIBRE, QUEEN NOTES.
At a well-attended meeting of the Fibre Queen supporters on Tuesday last, it was resolved to'’open a stall next door to Mrs Aldersey’s on tlhe vacant section. Sam© will be opened on Saturday next, with a \wonderful assortment of -everything to suit' the taste of young and old. The clock competition will be started. Clock will be wound, then sealed and placed in Mr H. Hook’s window, until itl stops. The person to estimate the time the clock stops will be given a pair of ebony backed brushes. Entrance fee for competition 6d a guess. The winner estimating the length of a piece of flax in a bottle was Mr J. Olsen., with a guess of 9$ feet, the fight length being .11$ feet. Tickets will be out t°r votes for the Fibre Queen, same being 3d each. Each purchaser of a ticket has the chance of winning any of five prizes valued from £2 down to 21s. Prizes will be on show .in a day or two. The Fibre Queen supporters throw out a challenge 'to "the" other Queen supporters to pull in a tug-of-war, limit twelve stone, for £1 aside, proceeds to go to the Queen of competitors who are successful.
