TOKOMARU NEWS.
(From our own Correspondent.) A good deal of sickness still prevails in this- district, the latest victims being. Mr and Mrs Philip. This has necessitated the school being closed earlier; than usual. There passed away on Wednesday last a highly respected resident of the district in the person of Mrs J. CKelly. The deceased, who, despite failing health, was of a bright, optimistic disposition, which endeared her to her many friends.. Her husband, five daughters, and three sons are left to mourn their loss. The interment took place on Friday at the Palmerston North cemetery, and many beautiful floral tributes were received. Mrs Bree has resumed duty at the Post Office, after a short stay in Rotorua. Mr Hume has taken up his. duties at the cheese factory. Confirmation classes are being held by the Rev. J. C. Abbot, in view of the approaching service to be held by the Bishop of Wellington on September 18th.
