SEWERAGE AND STREET IMPROVEMENTS.
ESTIMATE TO BE PREPARED
Cr. Hyde brought up the question of sewerage and street improvements for Shannon at the Council meeting on Tuesday night. He said that some time ago a resolution had been passed deciding to call a meeting to go into these questions, but up to the present it had-not eventuated and be wanted to know if a move was going to be made in that direction.
The Mayor: We must concentrate on one- thing at a time. At present we have the water supply to attend to. When we have gat that going our' minds will then be free to deal withother, matters.
Cr. Hyde: The matter of the watersupply is practically all fixed as far as the Council is concerned, and the trine has now arrived to- set these other works in motion; as. it will be many months, before a start can be made with ’the'work. A lot 01 tiuie is needed with the preliminary work. He then moved that the Engineer be instructed to prepare estimates for alternate sewerage proposals, (a) thickly populated area; (b) the whole borough; also to- supply estimate for tar sealing the main road from the Police t-ation to Mr Kegg’s hotel. The motion was carried.
