CHARGED WITH MANSLAUGHTER CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. John Thomas Doherty was charged to-day with manslaughter in respect of the death of Samuel James Cooke, who was killed in a collision between Doherty’s car and another car at Hill’s Road. Evidence was given that Doherty’s speed was 30 to 35 miles an hour. The town clerk gave evidence that before the fatality, Doherty's certificate to drive had been cancelled, owing to his reckless driving. Accused pleaded not guiljty*, and was committed for trial. ,
