-One of the porters at the Wellington Hospital committed the “indiscretion ’ ’ of going to the pictures, with a nurse frbm the institution, as a result of which it was considered there had been a breach of discipline, and in subsequent proceedings the porter left the service of the board. Correspondence on the matter from the porter’s solicitors came before the Hospital Board, - when objection was taken to the statements made on behalf of The Boar , an ' an action, fOT wrongful dismissal was hinted at. Mr. C. H. Chapman said it appeared to him to be a case •of dis eipline run mad. It was wrong to expect to maintain, discipline by such steps as this. On the face of it, it look ed like comic opera.
