“I believe in the old saying that women’s voices should not be heard in the church, except in the choir,” said an Eltham lady when proposed as a- member of All Saints’ vestry at the meeting of parishioners. “That’s quite out of date,” remonstrated a gentleman present. “So am I, then,” said the lady, amid much laughter.
